We are on the hillside above the Gulf of Tigullio: five minutes by car and you are in Chiavari or Lavagna, half an hour and you are on the Riviera. It is a handy base for exploring the coast, and in the evening you come back to the quiet of the hill, with the sea lit up below.
Getting here
- You will need a car: the B&B is on the hillside and the last stretch is a private road, narrow and winding, climbing for about a kilometre.
- Follow the main road through Cogorno and then the signposted right turn: some satnavs suggest shortcuts that do not lead to the entrance.
- The beaches of Chiavari and Lavagna are about 5 km away; for Portofino and the Cinque Terre it is best to leave the car and take the train.
- Chiavari station is on the Genoa–La Spezia line: from there you can reach Portofino, Santa Margherita and the Cinque Terre.
